Did this short vlog on April's fool day. Watch me speaking mandarin!
And nope, I'm really a Singaporean and not from China...

Seriously, I am.

I've been suffering from insomnia since I graduated from Secondary. Partly because of stress, partly because I'm a free-bird myself and I feel that I'm being restricted by a lot of things.
Take for example my life. Back then I choose to study Biotechnology is because my mum forbids me to learn nail art and keeps insisting that I shouldn't go into this line and hence I'm left with no choice but to take up a course in the Polytechnic and since Biotechnology was the "in" thing then hence I wasted my 3 years of life studying that. And when I want to pursue my dream in makeup, my mum forbids me again, saying that people who work in this line usually will end up in a divorce. Seriously each time I asked my mum what exactly she wants me to do, all she would say is she wants me to get a degree in Science but I'm totally not interested in this industry and honestly I've already talked to her about this for a million times. She may say it's up to me but all it takes is someone's child to get a cert in something and there goes the naggings again.
Then comes blogging. I've been blogging for so many years, and I love blogging. I don't blog just for the sake of making money (like some bloggers who immediately changed her blog title to the top famous blogger after she's being featured in newspaper and starting to charge fees), neither do I blog with an agenda (to hook girls/guys up, to be famous). I just love blogging and xanga's like a place where I can be truly myself. Yet with the advance of technology, my relatives are beginning to interfere with my private life and apparently blogging becomes one of them. I can no longer blog about things I hate, because my relatives judge me. I cannot say anything about my f*ckup family, because my relatives call that disrespectful. I can't even whine about how tired I am with life because they will read and start spreading rumors around like wildfire. Clearly at this point without my explanation you would have known it's because my relatives are reading my blog now and with their limited understanding of english they simply ASSUME whatever I wrote and interpret as something negative. To them, whatever I've done is simply bad or negative because I am not rich.
I feel tired also because I am never good at whatever thing I've done. My relatives look down on Joeness because he's not from a rich background (but why should I marry someone who's rich rather than someone I love?), my mum never praise me for anything I've done and sometimes I wonder why am I born into this world. When my boss praised me the other day and said I'm a god-sent, part of me is touched; yet part of me feels that I am never good enough for anything except what I'm doing now - a small fry in the company.
I don't know how long my insomnia will last this time. Usually it's seasonal, so I hope it will go away soon. It's making me depressed and emo.
Till next time~

A famous local blogger metioned in her twitter recently that she's gotten some eye infection due to wearing circle lens to change her Asian brown/black eyes to blue.

I'm pretty much of a circle lens wearer myself too. My eyesight are near perfect mind you. But the choice of the different shades of blues and greens is just so tempting to make me wear them and change my eye color. Not to mention there's some other crazy colors like pinks and purples which I really love my eyes to have once in a while.

As much as me procrastinating that I wanna have green or blue eyes, I'm quite contented with my brown eyes actually.

What is your eye colour? If given a choice, what eye colour would you wish to have?

I was listening to Avril Lavigne's new album today and while msn-ing my friend he mentioned that I got the "totally-into-Avril bad girl face".

This kinda reminds me of how I always carry myself. Light colored hair, smoky eyes, wearing all black. Even the necklace reminds me of myself.
Then when I told him I love listening to songs by Corrine May, he gets a shock and was surprise because he don't see a person like me will appreciate those genre of music. He always sees me as someone who loves soft rock and R&B only. (I guess he's judging from my looks?)
And since I was intending to take part in seedsower's challenge I decided to post a picture of my reflection here. Took this in the office handicap toilet of how I look like today. I've been suffering from bad hair day and bad makeup day, so pardon me for looking like crap. Not to mention my nail polish had chipped and I haven't remove them yet. Lazy Me.

Just wondering, has anyone ever got a shock at your taste of music like me? What genre of music people usually associate you with?
Till next time~

Okie I know I ain't any famous blogger here but I just feel that if there's anything I can do based on my part then probably I should help. Since I myself is working in a Japanese company and I feel that even if my company here is not affected probably those in Japan might already been.
For this week (13th March - 20th March 1159hrs UTC + 8:00), every single donation that's donated to me on the right hand side of my xanga blog (see the right side under "Sponsor Meanie", that paypal donation button) will be donated to the globalgiving Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief fund. I would be even happier if you would make a donation right there yourself! They're still short of over $600,000 to hit $850,000.

It sucks each time I see news about all these natural disaster. I just feel glad that I'm living in a country that has no volcanoes, not around the earthquake zone nor will we be affected much by tidal waves. But those videos and pictures just make me depress, seriously.
Till next time~

You know each time I see those pulses and blogs and vlogs talking about meet ups I am jealous and envy.
Seriously really envy.
Because these meet ups are usually in USA and since I'm right smack at the other side of the world in Asia, there's no way I could even have a chance to attend unless it's gonna be held here.

I think I sound like some green eyed monster now, haha.
Just wondering, if there's a Xanga meet up over here in Singapore. Will you Xangarians in Asia wanna attend?
I was on my way home with my colleague just now and while we're waiting for the train, rambling about our work, our personal life, the part that I'm having a fever and sore throat today and yet I refuse to be on medical leave and stay home and all nonsense, a man who was holding onto a blind cane stood beside us. A lady who was holding onto his arm told us that she's taking the train from the other side and this man needs to board the train and alight at the next stop.
My colleague and I helped the blind man into the train. But after some thoughts we decided to alight with him at the next stop, making sure he has alight safely before taking the next train. Unfortunately, when he alight from the stop no one is willing to stop and helped him to cross over to the other platform which requires quite a bit of walking.
If you people know Singapore's train system well you might be able to understand more. I was at Somerset, the next stop's Dhoby Ghaut, and it's an interchange train station that allows you to move to another platform to board another train going to a different direction. From Somerset to Dhoby Ghaut is heading South, and this blind uncle is switching to the other platform to board the north-east line.
Both me and my colleague can't bear to see the poor blind man standing there asking for help and decided to help him get to the north-east line platform. We're definitely not heading that direction since we're both heading up north, but when the blind man asked we merely lied and say we're on the same way as him.
As he hold my right elbow and me directing him to the other platform, I realise there's a lot of stares from the crowd. People looked and stared as if we're some weird specimens. My colleague followed beside us, making sure the blind uncle is safe when we're talking the escalator. Throughout this 5 minutes walk from the north-south line platform to the north-east line platform, nobody is willing to help but everybody merely stare at us.
That leaves me thinking: what's wrong with the world nowadays? Didn't we learnt in school that helping a blind to cross the road is a good deed? Ok I'm not helping him to cross the road obviously, I'm helping him to cross to the other platform. But the point is, I saw many faces who stared at me are those who board the same train as us at Somerset station. If me and my colleague are not on the way and we could spare our time to help the blind, why can't them, people who are already gonna go that particular way anyway, help him?
The blind uncle doesn't want to bother us too much and thank us when he reached the north-east line platform. We kinda followed him a while, making sure he boarded the train safely before heading back to the north-south line platform and continue our way back home.
Has the world really gone so bad that no one wants to help a blind to cross over nowadays? If you were me just now would you help this blind uncle to get to the other platform?
Till next time~

I know I am not a pro player when it comes to office politics.
But having work in the beauty industry where I'm surrounded by b*tches and busybodies and bullies everyday, I've learnt it well that there's a few key people in the office that you can never ever offend them. Or else, it's time to say sayonara to your job. Maybe I'm wrong, but at least some are right for me over here LOLs.
The Claims Accountant

The claims accountant takes care of all your petty cash claims for your expenses, from mobile phone bills to entertainment fees and stuffs you bought for some company events or company use. While they can't totally ignore your claims for all these, you can be prepared to get your claims later than anyone else if you offended the Claims Accountant. She can't take away those money, but she can use her capability to process your claims slower; you'll get your money back slower too. Unless you don't want/need your money back asap, continue irritate her all you want.
The Admin

This group of people have many different fancy names, from Sales Coordinator, Operations Assistant, Sales Process Officer, Administrative Executive... Whatever the job title is, the Admins are a group of people who are the Wonder Woman of the company, making ends meet. From generating reports, calling external parties to liase with shipments of products, stopping the delivery guy from sending the wrong mail to the press, to simple things like making 1000 copies of the report for the meetings and setting up of the meeting room, the admins are capable of doing all these things that other call as chores within a short timeline. Offend the main admin who handles your stuffs and you can expect your 1000 copies of report for the important meeting may have some pictures of Justin Bieber included in the chart, things you requested to be delivered to Store A will somehow land itself at Town B. Whatever the case is, the admins are the ones who always help to prevent shits from happening. In times of crisis, they're also the ones who will help to clean up the mess.
The Sales & Marketing Executive

You are eyeing on this item that your company is selling and hence you make use of staff discount and got it for 30% off retail price. The next thing you know, this same item is selling in stores for 60% off retail price the next day while you're out shopping with your friends. Wanna avoid such from happening? Make friends with the S & M. They are the ones who gets to know the most first hand information on the upcoming promotions and sales most of the time, not to forget those collaborations with other companies to get some good deals from these companies too. Of cos, like I said, make friends with them, but be sure they are willing to share this information with you in another issue.
The Receptionist

Don't laugh, I would dream to be a receptionist because they usually have the largest work station!
You need to know who is in and who is out of office. Who send flowers to the ugly new girl with braces. Be it work or gossips, the receptionist sees the most things in the company. They are usually the ones who transfers your calls and delivers you letters and mails attention to you. Trust me, being nice to the receptionist has got its privileges. Guest looking for you will be treated more politely, gossips from the whole office is gathered all around her work station most of the time. And if whoever is gossiping about you, your BFF receptionist will let you know at once.
The Boss

Needless to explain on this! Go ahead and offend him if what you want is a termination letter from him.
Do you agree with the 5 people that I personally feel you should never offend and be friends with?
Any other people in the office that you think you should never offend?
Till next time~
